Tiny picture!!!!

Here it is!!! Isn't this great?!!!

A magical package!

First of all I have to follow up a little on pictures for my daughter. This morning we had a wonderful experience with a local photographer named Fox. Her business is called Celestial Images in Gainesville, GA. She was warm, fun and talented. She walked my daughter to the old courthouse in beautiful downtown Gainesville and took some incredible shots of her in her prom dress...elegant with a twist! Then she used the architecture of the old building her studio is in to take other pictures...Emily was in more casual clothes. I can not wait to see them!!!! Lessoned learned here....do your research and go local!!!! We left this experience so happy!!!!

The second wonderful thing of my day....I recieved the most fabulous...totally awesome suprise when I got home!!! A tiny little owl dropped off a tiny little package! It has one tiny hand-knit sock, tiny needles...very temperamental...will only knit socks!....beautiful stitch markers and yarn and a great pattern! I learned to owl was from Hororia Beckett!!!! It is fabulous! It topped my magical day!

I will miss you all! I had a great time with you at camp!!! Take care!

What a day!!!

I took my daughter today for Glamour Shots....not a good experience. The make-up girl seemed to could have not cared any less about the how the make-up looked. She barely did anything with my daughters hair. The whole thing seemed like such a raquet. You can't walk out of there without spending at least $200 and that is only one pose. I ended up not buying a thing....although the pictures where beautiful (my daughter is beautiful!). I would rather give my money to a local photographer than that corporate nightmare!!!

All packed up and ready to leave camp. Fall is in the air here!!!

Homework

"Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her."

I realize it is late....I thought it had to be posted by 12:00 midnight tonight! I don't know if better late than never will apply here, but I'll go for it! I admit I had to get a little help with this one! I am not very good at these things!

Snow in the South

I spent a good part of the day working on my gift yesterday....we had rare snow here in the South! It really didn't amount to much here, but I understand they got quite a bit south of us! I remembered the days my husband and I lived in Boone, NC and I knitted (or cross stitched) while he watched football and there was usually snow on the ground. Those were cozy, peaceful days....you know, before the little witches and wizard! :o) I love each and every busy and noisy one of them! Anyway, I am almost finished with it and will start on my next gift! This is so much fun. It is keeping my mind off the economy and other happenings that could really bring a girl down!

Hogsmeade Assignment

What a lovely weekend I spent at Hogsmeade! I do so wish I could return this weekend, but the portal is closed for the time being. It is difficult to pinpoint my favorite shop in the village. Is it Honeyduke's Sweetshop? So much for keeping my "witchy" figure after visiting there! I can not resist the rich, creamy fudge! The same recipe has been used for hundreds of years to make this magical treat! The same spells and ritual are used by the first fudgemakers binding witches and wizards generation after generation! I have been told that only true witches can taste the sweetness of the fudge. Muggles can only taste the bitter cocoa! Of course, I did not leave without purchasing Chocolate Frogs for my son- a favorite of his. Why he has cards that his great, great, great-grandfather collected on his visits to Hogsmeade! My oldest daughter loves the Peppermint Frogs, while my second oldest enjoys Drooble's Best Bubble Gum. My youngest witch likes to eat the Fizzing Whizzes so she can levitate over her sisters (and pester them!)! These treats have been enjoyed by many generations of magical folk and will be enjoyed by many, many more! Honeydukes binds generations after generation of witches and wizards with it's timeless treats!

It's Here!!!

My yarn has arrived! It is beautiful! I started knitting last night. I am working on my assignment!

Sunday, February 8, 2009

Sunday evening (Feb. 8, 2009)

I just finished planning for next week (I am a teacher). I am waiting impatiently for the yarn I ordered to arrive so I can start my gift for my spoilee! We don't have any yarn shops in town, so most of the "good" stuff has to be ordered on-line. I hope to make it to Atlanta to some yarn shops there. It's getting late and I got kiddies to get to bed!
